From September 6 to November 2, the countryside around Ede and Lunteren will once again be transformed into a living work of art. During the Woest&Bijster landscape art festival, cyclists and walkers will be taken on a tour of surprising art installations in the varied landscape. Fifteen artists bring a diversity of styles and disciplines, from sculpture and installations to land art and interactive art.
During the festival, you will stumble upon three Waanplekken in the landscape surrounding the Center of the Netherlands. The works are inspired by the light and energy of the place and the longing for a wilderness. I used natural materials that I found there. This is the first time I show work in the open air. They are set in the earth, among the trees, where insects land on them and spiders spin their webs.
This year, for the first time, visitors can choose from a variety of carefully mapped routes: the core of this special festival is a 34-kilometer cycling route, a journey of discovery filled with art and nature. What makes this edition extra special is the launch of the “glasses” in the interactive route map, which allow visitors to read the landscape.
