At the beginning of March, an extensive article about my work was published in PF Magazine, written by Madeleine Rood.
In the article, I speak about how my fascination with mountains began, and how my “constructed mountains” gradually took on a life of their own. What started as a practical solution, building landscapes myself when I was unable to travel, developed into a way of depicting a universal place, a landscape that exists nowhere, yet still evokes memories.
I also reflect on my working process, in which I increasingly allow for chance. By working with cyanotypes and materials such as coffee and tea, the image becomes less controlled, and therefore more alive.
