Waanplekken 100-102 (2025)
In an age where the entire world has been meticulously charted and mapped, I find myself drawn to the remote and the undiscovered. How can you capture and portray the essence of these untouched, uncharted, and sublime landscapes without physically venturing into them?
My work consists of fictional landscapes created using photographic techniques. My series Waanplekken (Illusory Places) consists of impressions of landscapes that I create using photography and everyday materials. With this ongoing project, I am looking for ways to capture memories of overwhelming nature and the sublime.

For Woest&Bijster, I have created new Waanplekken, inspired by the nature around the Center of the Netherlands. During the festival, the works were on display on a large scale in the landscape. This is the first time my work was shown outdoors.
