While studying at art school, I became fascinated by painters from the Romantic period, such as Casper David Friedrich. For this particular work, his painting The Sea of Ice (1823-1824) was my inspiration. This version of an iceberg is part of the process that led me to my ongoing project Waanplekken, which is why I titled it number 0.
